Insidious: Chapter 3 Review

Oh ya, jadi lupa review film nya hehehe.

It Follows Review

Just watch this movie last night. I'd say, the best recent horror movie ever! Not just some creepy serial killer, or another bad things happened in a big house which was on cheap sale, or possessed family member, or possessed things that you found in somewhere or a group of curious teenager who hike and find something creepy (okay, enough)
For me, the idea is original, and the spooky feeling kinda like The Babadook. Different from the usual horror movie.
Must say after Ju-On, this movie really make feel scared while watching it. When I read the synopsis, I thought just some common horror, didn't expect how it turned out to be best recent horror movie ever!

Just the end, I kinda expected more spooky, but even with the ending, I still called it the best horror movie that gave me the spooky feeling.
Synopsis: After carefree teenager Jay (Maika Monroe) sleeps with her new boyfriend, Hugh (Jake Weary), for the first time, she learns that she is the latest recipient of a fatal curse that is passed from victim to victim via sexual intercourse. Death, Jay learns, will creep inexorably toward her as either a friend or a stranger. Jay's friends don't believe her seemingly paranoid ravings, until they too begin to see the phantom assassins and band together to help her flee or defend herself.

The least you know about the story the scared the movie will give you. Just watch it this weekend or tonight or whatever.

My rating: 9 from 10
Horror meter: spooky! (level 8)
Keyword: mystery, horror, teenager, recommended horror movie

Ex Machina Review

I just watched this movie last night. I really love it! It's a British science fiction thriller. Or must I say psychological (science fiction) thriller?
The story is quite simple with high technology and philosophical topic: what makes you human? In my opinion, this is the greatest movie ever about the ideas of artificial intelligence. For some people, maybe this is gonna be quite boring, but if you ever wondering about artificial intelligence, the impact with our lives, this is a great movie.
This movie makes me recalling another ideas of artificial intelligence in a tv series, Black Mirror, eps "Be Right Back" and it has the same actor, Domhnall Gleeson. He played as Ash the artificial intelligence in Be Right Back, while in Ex Machina, he's the tester. He's about to perform Turing Test on Ava the artificial intelligence.

Synopsis: A young programmer (Domhnall Gleeson) is selected to participate in a breakthrough experiment in artificial intelligence by evaluating the human qualities of a breathtaking female A.I.

My rating: 9 from 10
Keyword: twisted plot, science fiction, nudity
